Happy to Help

Yesterday, I watched someone's kids while she got a few projects done. Today, I am calling around to find someone to help put in an alternator for a sweet lady so she can drive her car. It is odd, I find people are astounded when they find out you want to help out so much. Is this the state of mind the world is in these days? You mean - you want to help and you are actually GOING to help? Hopefully the help is a drop in the pond which will create many more ripples.

Tornado Tuesday 05-19-09

So I haven't posted any of my Tornado Tuesday's for a while. I don't post these to make myself look so important or "goody-two-shoes" rather it is to give inspiration for you to find new ways of helping people around you. I promise I do something every week. I try to do something every Tuesday but with a crazy busy schedule it doesn't always happen on Tuesday. I feel like I have spiritually grown so much from this. Just as one small example, I helped a friend take off the old wallpaper from her new house. It was fun and I found out she is afraid of heights.. no fun getting up on that ladder for her I am sure. I was happy to help her get it done faster.

I feel like I need to branch out further into the community to do some good there. Once my oldest two get into school again, I think I may try to find some volunteer source to assist with (besides my children's school)!

Feel free to list different ways you have found to bless anothers life. I am not offended if other comments are listed with ideas to help loved ones and strangers. In fact, I welcome them. I love hearing good news and it helps to calm my anxiety to see that this world is full of lovers not haters! :-)

Tornado Tuesday 03-17-09

Tonight I am branching from my home project to next door. We will make treats for all three of our direct neighbors and write little cards saying Thanks for being such good neighbors. (Er, then we plan to move soon...? where yet but soon!) I found a fabulous recipe to share:

Tornado Tuesday 03-03-09

Tornado Tuesday begins again! Yeah!

So, I thought of making a Tornado Tuesday a while ago..don't know if anyone remembers?! I started it to remember others. Today, I did a good deed but I don't want to really spoil it by posting it... but I suppose if I am going to write about helping others, I should post what I am doing for others as well.

Here goes, I am trading off time with a friend of mine: she takes my two youngest for three hours one day, I take her two littlest another day for three hours. Today, she mentioned she was going to paint. I decided once I came home, I would call her and let her know she can pick up an hour later so she can get more work done. It is a REAL giving moment for me to do this. I do not mind her little ones but I have a hard time watching other peoples children sometime. I am grateful for my opportunity to give and help and to realize it by keeping in touch with what I am spiritually fed. Just a little deed. But it felt so wonderful. I need more of these moments.

Tornado Tuesday 12-02-08

Calling all tacklers - calling aaalll tacklers....

This is Andrea speaking. I am now ready to roll my sleeves down, take some time to enjoy the season, and spend more time with my family.

Tackling it Tuesday will now be Tornado Tuesday because that is what I am going to be this next month - a big tornado of things to do, places to go and people to see! I am very excited for this Christmas to be here. Mainly because it will be a break for my wonderful, sweet, handsome, loving, kind and intellegent husband from school and work to spend some time with us! Yeah! Hopefully I can keep up with the home keeping basics and concentrate more on serving others in need as well as serving my family a big piece of Charity Pie! Grab your forks and napkins because this years Charity Pie will be scrumptious.
